Accessibility Statement
This site is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If something blocks you, tell us and we will fix it.
Our commitment
Everyone who drives needs auto insurance, so everyone needs to be able to use this site. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we aim for Level AAA on text contrast wherever it is achievable.
What is built in
- Keyboard access. Every interactive element is reachable with Tab, in an order that follows the visual layout. Enter activates buttons and links; Space toggles checkboxes; arrow keys move within radio groups.
- Visible focus. A high-contrast focus ring appears on keyboard focus without interfering with mouse use.
- Focus management. When the rate finder advances a step, focus moves to the new step heading so screen readers announce the change in context.
- Labelled fields. Every input and select has an associated label element. Error messages are announced through a live region.
- Semantic structure. Landmark elements, a single H1 per page, and a heading hierarchy with no skipped levels.
- Skip link. The first focusable element on every page jumps straight to the main content.
- Colour contrast. Body and heading text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 ratio, and most of it exceeds 7:1.
- Reduced motion. Animations and transitions are suspended when your system requests reduced motion.
- Alternative text. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
Testing
We test with Lighthouse and axe DevTools, and we run a manual keyboard-only pass on every page before it ships. Our target is a Lighthouse accessibility score of 95 or higher on both mobile and desktop.
Known limitations
Some third-party content, such as embedded partner tools, may not fully meet our standard. Where we identify a gap we work with the vendor or provide an accessible alternative.
Report a barrier
If you run into something you cannot use, tell us and we will treat it as a bug. Email accessibility@yourdomain.com, call (800) 555-0123, or use the contact form. Please include the page address and a short description of what happened. We aim to respond within two business days.
Getting help another way
If the online form is not workable for you, call us and a person will take your information over the phone.
